FERTIMANURE Final Event. Nutrients in Europe Research Meeting #NERM2024

FERTIMANURE Final Event is taking place as part of the event dedicated to closing nutrient cycles for a sustainable future, from R&D to implementation – Nutrients in Europe Research Meeting (NERM2024) 

• When:16 – 17 April 2024
• Where: Brussels and online
• There will be also:
  • A students meeting on 15 April 2024.
  • Site visits to Fertimanure and Walnut nutrient recovery facilities on 17 April 2024 during the afternoon.

NERM is organised by ESPP, the Horizon 2020 projects FERTIMANURE, Lex4bio, Rustica, SEA2LAND, WalNUT and Biorefine Cluster Europe.

NERM will cover:

• key outcomes of recent nutrient recycling R&D under Horizon 2020, LIFE, Interreg and other funding programmes
• roadmap for future nutrient recycling R&D needs
• nutrient recovery technologies and recycled fertiliser production
• quality, application and use, stakeholder acceptance of secondary fertilisers from nutrient recovery to market

If you are studying any of these topics you are welcome to NERM2024.

FERTIMANURE will be participating in the following activities (you can download the preliminary programme below):

• The 3 parallel sessions related to nutrient recovery technologies, recycled fertiliser production on 16 April 2024.
• The 3 parallel session related to quality assessment of secondary fertilisers, application, sustainability assessment, stakeholder and farmer acceptance, market uptake and business models on 16 April 2024.
• The parallel session reports – panel discussion with industry, experts, stakeholders on 17 April 2024.
• The final panel with RUR-08 project coordinators – nutrient recovery and recycled fertiliser R&D needs and roadmap on 17 April 2024.
• The site visit to the FERTIMANURE on-farm stripping-scrubbing unit to recover ammonium salts from pig slurry in Ghent, Belgium (there will be buses that will take you from Brussels to the pilot and back) on 17 April 2024.
