SONAR – Stop children and youth injuries with a particular focus on female athletes. Final Multiplier Event

Welcome to the Final Multiplier Event of the “SONAR – Stop children and youth injuries with a particular focus on female athletes” project. The main objective of the SONAR_eu project is to ‘improve the educational and training skills of grassroots sports coaches on the monitoring and prevention of sports injuries in children and adolescents, with special attention to female athletes’. Research shows that many injuries treated in EU hospitals relate to children aged 10-21 and are caused by physical and sporting activities. Although playing sports is associated with many health benefits, stakeholders recognize that education of coaches, athletes and families about best practices and habits to prevent injuries is still insufficient.
To address this problem, the project proposes the development of several tools and a holistic approach that includes:
- An injury surveillance system (ISS) based on a web app.
- An online educational program for coaches.
- Awareness content on injury prevention for athletes and parents.
The face-to-face meeting is aimed at students, coaches, physical trainers, sports directors… We would like you to attend!
The speakers and the titles of the presentations can be found below.
Limited to 200 attendants
Languages: Spanish and English
